GCX Corporation has started two online communities at gcx.com – one for nursing, and one for architects and planners – to inform and promote networking among healthcare professionals.

GCX Corporation has started two online communities at gcx.com – one for nursing, and one for architects and planners – to inform and promote networking among healthcare professionals.

The worldwide leader in medical instrument and IT mounting solutions, GCX recently added the “Community” link to its homepage. Each community presents informative articles about its respective profession. Visitors also can connect with peers and engage with GCX consultants by sharing stories or by following GCX on Twitter, @gcxcorp.

The 24/7 “Community” resource includes links to relevant state, national and international associations. In addition, the Architects and Planners Community offers downloadable 2-D CAD drawings of popular GCX products in the DWG file format.

GCX brings common context for the two online communities in its nearly 40 years at the intersection of medical devices, users and healthcare environments, said GCX Director of Marketing Kevin Merritt. Though both professions are influential in successful integration of technology into healthcare, each GCX community has a distinct audience focus.

The Nursing Community at gcx.com acknowledges growing nurse participation in hospitals’ and health systems’ adoption of electronic medical records, or EMR. “Institutions know nurses are their ‘boots on the ground’,” Merritt said, “while nurses themselves realize participating in these committees can improve their careers – not to mention their daily work experience.”
