ONLY arms on this list with the exact part number (including specific revision letter after the part number) are related to this notice. This does not apply to any other GCX mounting products. Most of the listed arms were sold in overseas markets where horizontal rail systems for walls and pendant systems are more commonly used.
GCX has identified an improvement to the horizontal rail clamp that will ensure long-term, secure attachment of the subject arms to the horizontal rail. We have received input from customers that resulted in GCX creating an update kit that is easily retro-fitted to existing arms. In cases where the installer did not torque the fasteners adequately or the lower rail clamp was not pressed firmly upward against the horizontal rail, it is possible for the attachment to loosen. The improvement to the design reduces this sensitivity and ensures more reliable performance over extended periods.
So that all customers who have purchased arms will benefit from this improvement, we are providing the update kits at no charge. GCX has already sent an email notification to all customers who purchased any of the arms listed and we have proactively provided update kits.
