Philips Avalon Fetal/Maternal Monitor
Philips has a long and proud history in obstetrical care technologies — offering fetal and maternal monitors, obstetrical information systems and measurements used during routine and high-risk deliveries. When faced with the challenge of integrating their new technology into the hospital environment, Philips turned to
GCX®, the leader in medical instrument mounting solutions. Integrating the Philips Avalon series monitors, which offer fetal and maternal monitoring, into the obstetrical departments of clinics and hospitals required specialized design services. An easily moveable stand was developed to position this monitoring solution at the point-of-care, while improving the ergonomics and overall usability of the device.
To broaden the range of monitor-positioning options available to Philips customers, GCX developed two additional mounting solutions. One wall mount allows a wide degree of positioning adjustment and another provides a space-saving flush design. All mounting solutions took advantage of existing GCX components, helping to keep costs down and speed development. Custom colors and storage concepts were used to create uniquely functional products that reinforce the Philips brand.
